I am having a real crap week where apparently my family and friends all decided I'm doing well enough that they could dump on all my flaws and tell me all the criticisms they've been saving up for years. I would appreciate thoughts/prayers etc. <3

While I think Dolly is perfect I always mentally argue with that Wildflowers song because wildflowers care very much about where they grow. I once grew a wildflower garden and to make them get that look of overflowing abundance took a lot of work. There’s a lesson in that somewhere
At the end of/just after college I was in a Tom Petty cover band (named Your Father's Mustache, which we later learned is old timey slang for bullshit). I didn't know his music beyond the classic rock radio hits when I joined. The hill I will always die on is everyone should dig into his whole discography at some point. It's unreal how good some of the tracks that didn't make it into the rotation for today's mass market radio are.
My dad used to sing this to me when I was a baby. There’s a really wonderful home video my grandmother took of a just three day old me sleeping while he sings it. It’s one of my favorite songs.

Wow, you and I are "Wildflowers" soul-sisters! It was also on my birth playlist (which didn't actually get played, because of you know, all of the actual BIRTHING) - but it's the lullaby I sing most to my two and has been one of my favorite songs since I was quite young. The other night my son with autism sang it back to me, every word perfect pitch, for the first time - when I never was really sure if he was listening or even quite enjoyed it (he literally will say "No sing, Mommy!" a lot of the times I try to sing to him, so I'm not reading it haha) and, of course, I bawled. Anyway, I hadn't heard most of these covers and I'm so happy that you brought them into my life ... back to listening now! <3
I also just...I'm still missing Tom Petty. We shouldn't have lost him.
