OH, also *I* watched JOKER, which is so fucking mediocre it made me want to DIE, but I've talked so much shit about it unwatched that I felt obliged to watch it. I was worried my husband would like it, bc straight cis men and DC movies is such a thing, but he was like "this is a bad movie" and now I love him more securely.
When I first saw the trailer for Knives Out, I said "that looks like if Agatha Christie wrote a parody of Agatha Christie, but American". I was right, and I loved it, and I am here for Daniel Craig's newest franchise.
So glad your mom is there and hope things are getting better as the light starts to think about returning! Also can I just thank you again for talking about Schitts Creek solidly for years till I actually watched it?? I knew all the time I would love it and oh man I really do. But it would have taken longer without you, and now I get to treasure them all so much for more of my life!
I saw both The Irishman and Parasite at the weekend and loved both. Also Bait, three out of three!
Just on The Irishman, I felt the whole point was to say “if you thought Goodfellas and Casino were saying that gangsters are cool or clever, then watch this.”
All of the mobsters are pathetic, everything they do is tawdry from the start?
Nicole, have you ever thought about exec producing? You have such incredible depth and taste in film, I’d really love to see the projects you’d foster.
Can't wait to show my mom Knives Out! (I have more mental bandwidth to keep track of The Movies and The Shows, so this is my filial job and I love it. )
I was tempted to watch Marriage Story last week, even though it would cut way too close to the Childhood bone emotionally (maybe I'll be ready in another 20 years).
...So I ended up watching Ordinary People for the first time instead, naturally. *snorfle*
This is like a list of things I would watch with my mom (who died 4 years ago this week so the loss is on my mind even more), so it is lovely to think about moms and adult daughters doing some quality media consumption together. ❤️
I had no idea that episode of Documentary Now was based on a real thing and I've lost half an hour of my workday to watching this video twice. Thank...you...?? It's amazing
Miss you on twitter but glad of course that you're away, hope you're doing great!!

Have you watched the High Fidelity series on Hulu? I'm really enjoying it and Zoe Kravitz is so hot I want to die. Love you, miss you!
Totally unrelated but y'all being y'all I need some good vibes for wisdom in a one-and-a-half job offer situation
