I'm not normally a very squeamish person when it comes to reading gore (movies is a different issue) but this OBGYN article is making me nauseous and furious. What an absolute beast.
The mealworms make quite the combo with “my in laws won’t stop eating mushrooms that are deadly to me” and “so not only was my mother in law poisoning me, my husband knew.”
I (a person who is not a parent) have never understood the problem with child leashes. I have seen so many calm, obedient children take off RUNNING out of nowhere and they are SO FAST.
Finn is indeed beautiful and perfect. I have recently heard from a friend of mine in Thailand that Thai cat lovers refer to their cats as น้อง, which is "younger sibling" (ie, a cherished part of the family to be cared for). I love that.
I'm very late on this and no one will see it but what's being described in the OBGYN article is an obstetric fistula. The writer is being super-cagey about it probably because it's so icky, but what it means is that this woman was leaking urine and feces uncontrollably for months until she could have the surgery required to fix the situation. In general in third world countries when this happens, the (usually) very young mother labors for a very long time, the baby dies, and the mother has to live with the fistula, shunned by her family and community until and unless she can access the very sparse surgical services to have it repaired (and some women do not have a successful first surgery... so go through all that and then have to continue living with the problem while recovering from an unsuccessful surgery and/or continue to try to get it fixed after having gone through all that to no resolution -- it is a whole truly terrible thing).
So yeah this guy is a POS of the NTH degree -- and also to learn more about fistula and to support the work ending it, visit worldwidefistulafund.org.
I'm about to start work for my brand new resume coaching/writing business! I am a Business Lady now!
I'll share information here when I'm ready to take on more customers. Next week I start a six-week language immersion class, so it's impractical to take on new folks now.

I am so proud of Maria. Confidence in your partner and getting a cat! Beautiful.
About 15 years ago Len Cariou was in town here doing a local theatre production (he's from Winnipeg!) of The Dresser. He was so dang good.
